Buy the best lock you can afford.
Alarms can be effective but are only really effective with a lock
If you have a Garage, always lock it and remember to lock the bike as well.
if your bike is left outside Cover it up and use a ground anchor where possible
When parking your bike try to avoid using the same parking spot every day and lock your bike to a secure immovable object.....they wont knick the lamp post!
Never leave your lock resting on the ground and always lock it as close to the bike as possible. This makes it more difficult for theives to attack your bike.
Remember to maintain your lock. Keep it free from dirt and oil the mechanism regularly.
Dont forget if your lock stops working you wont be able to lock your bike.
